As the partner heading up the Medical Malpractice Group, Scott has 30 years of experience in defending medical professional and hospitals, and he also has extensive experience in general liability and government entity litigation. Scott has represented individuals, businesses and governmental entities in a variety of cases, including medical malpractice, emergency medicine, nursing home defense, premises liability, breach of contract, and wrongful death.
Among other clients, AMWT&C exclusively represents 5 preeminent hospitals in their malpractice and personal injury claims, with Scott directing the Medical Malpractice Group in a team approach, assigning two attorneys to each file, so that clients always get the attention they deserve.
Scott explains, “We encourage our clients to call us. We stress personal service on demand. Personal contact is one of the things that sets our firm apart. If you have a question, call us. We will answer your question that day. When hospital risk managers feel more comfortable calling our firm instead of their own in-house attorneys, that shows our skills as lawyers are valued, and the importance of a personal relationship. In investigating claims prior to litigation, we work with the hospitals directly. As a result, evolving issues that could potentially lead to a case are tackled earlier instead of later, when it could become a lawsuit.”
